Solicitors at Our Door During Lockdown?

And Seriously-Not Wearing Masks?

Really people?

No way am I answering the door for any sales people right now.

My family doesn’t even come over since we are social distancing. And you aren’t wearing a mask?

Are you all experiencing this as well?

We just ordered from DoorDash yesterday and they are still knocking and leaving the food at the doorstep. They aren’t expecting you to open the door and speak with them-especially without a mask!

Just this week alone since Texas has been reopening, we have had someone come to our door Every-Damn-Day trying to sell us something.

  • Several wanted to look at our roof for shingle loss due to a hail storm a few weeks back.
  • Several wanted us to sign up for their energy plan
  • Another wanted us to sign up for their home security company.
  • Another wanted to offer lawn services

Nope! Stay away people.

And the audacity to come to our door without a mask- endangering us?

My husband has a severely compromised immune system, so there’s no way in hell I’m allowing someone to get within 6 feet of him.

It blows my mind how all of a sudden since states are beginning to reopen-that some people are adopting a nonchalant attitude that now things are ok.

No they’re not- the virus is still out there like before. It hasn’t just gone away. We just haven’t been in contact with others as much due to masks and social distancing.

It took me and my siblings weeks to finally get our baby boomer parents to accept that this is serious and that they can’t just go on about their normal lifestyle.

No Dad-you can’t go to the gym and use sweaty, shared machines and breath in the shared air in the enclosed space.

No Mom-you can’t just go to Pier 1 to pass some time with retail therapy.

Thankfully, the lockdowns took away those options so they had no choice.

Now it seems we’re going to have to deal with solicitors approaching us again, with the flippant disregard of our susceptibility to the virus.

While I understand people are eager to get back to work and earn a living, it needs to be done with respect to other’s safety and well-being.
